Project overview

During the period from February to April 2023, I worked as a Product Designer for Databar.
I collaborated directly with the owner and product lead, David Abaev, as well as key members of the product teams, including development and front-end.

Problem Statement & My GOALS

The key challenges addressed during the project were:

  1. Organizing and streamlining the product's design system: The design library was systematized, and a file storage system was implemented to effectively manage palettes, fonts, and UI elements.

  2. Redesigning product screens and updating core functionality: The goal was to create a refreshed design for the product's main features in preparation for its public release. The public version was successfully launched in March, with all major planned updates completed within a month.

  3. Optimizing the current UX/UI of the product: Improvements were made to the logic and key screens of the product, enhancing the overall user experience.

  4. Updating the main product website and creating landing pages for marketing campaigns: The project involved revamping the product's website and preparing engaging landing pages for upcoming marketing initiatives.

These challenges were significant as they aimed to enhance the product's design consistency, improve the user experience, and create a compelling online presence for effective marketing campaigns.

DESIGN PROCESS

I began the design process with thorough ideation, taking on the role of a facilitator in brainstorming sessions. We conducted a series of brainstorming sessions and group discussions to generate and select ideas for improving the product design.

Following that, we moved into concept development, where I created prototypes and conducted user testing to evaluate design iterations. In close collaboration with developers and product managers, we held regular meetings and discussed user feedback to optimize and refine the product design.

The design process involved constant updating and refining of layouts and prototypes based on feedback from the team and users. We aimed for continuous improvement and achieving an optimal user experience.

You may also consider providing visual examples of your layouts, sketches, or design iterations to visually demonstrate your working process.

TASKs: Inner Product Pages

While the product is still in its early stages, we took on the challenge of developing additional internal pages. As part of this effort, we created a general page of quick tools and a dedicated page for the tool itself from scratch. (Below)

User Experience (UX) Design

In crafting the user experience and interaction design, I focused on creating a seamless and intuitive user journey. I conducted extensive user research to understand the needs, goals, and pain points of our target audience.

Based on the insights gathered, I developed user personas and user flows to guide the design process. I prioritized user-centric design principles, ensuring that the product was easy to navigate, visually appealing, and provided value at every interaction.

Key UX decisions were made to enhance usability and optimize user engagement. This included streamlining complex workflows, simplifying information architecture, and implementing clear and effective call-to-action elements. I also paid attention to microinteractions, animations, and feedback to provide a delightful user experience.

The rationale behind these UX decisions was to reduce friction, improve task efficiency, and enhance overall user satisfaction. By prioritizing user needs and aligning them with business goals, we aimed to create a product that truly resonated with our target users.

DESIGN SYSTEM & ELEMENTS

EASY TO SETUP SIDEBAR

Since we needed several versions of the first screen (for different user groups), it was necessary to think over the most useful functions and widgets for each of the categories.

HEAVY THINGS - SIMPLE

Convenient and ready-made components for developers. All components have states and options, which allows you to quickly prepare layouts for design development

Smart Insights and Recommendations

We incorporated machine learning algorithms to provide users with intelligent insights and recommendations based on their data, helping them uncover meaningful patterns and trends.

The approach of complex preparation and development of the main design elements helps to quickly prepare the necessary versions of the main screens for different user groups:

Marketing Support

Throughout my journey, I didn't just focus on product-related tasks, but also took charge of various marketing initiatives, including designing captivating landing pages, creating engaging content, and crafting eye-catching illustrations. These landing pages were instrumental in showcasing the product's key strengths in a visually appealing manner. By adopting a modular approach, I developed core blocks with different variations and options, forming a comprehensive system of design elements that facilitated quick and effortless creation of future product landing pages. To further streamline the design process, I seamlessly transitioned the designs to the no-code platform, Framer.

Results and Impact

The Databar project had a significant impact, resulting in improved user experience and business growth. User feedback and analytics showed increased engagement, higher conversion rates, and positive satisfaction scores. The project's success is evident through measurable metrics, testimonials, and positive feedback received. Overall, the project delivered tangible results and drove positive change for the client's business.

LET’s Work together

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
