Introduction

Smart Logistics is an IT company, a developer of professional platforms for automating transport logistics, united in an ecosystem. Users - thousands of companies involved in FTL transportation: cargo owners, forwarders, carriers with their own fleet.

TASK

The task was to study the current business process Registration of new customers (B2B), find problem areas and eliminate them. It was also required to develop an interface for registration in several stages.

PROBLEM

The main problem was the large amount of data that a new client needs to fill.

It was not possible to simplify the registration steps by reducing the information that the new client must indicate, since according to the data received from the R&D & Support departments in the segment, it was obvious that the majority of new users (53%) abandoned the Sign Up process, which means that they did not choose and pay for a subscription plan, as a result, this turned into lost profits and loyalty of newcomming clients (B2B Cargo companies)

In addition to the basic typical information (Name, contact details, company name), the user was required to:

  • Specify the contact information of the manager (representative of the client)

  • Specify company registration data

  • Select friendly B2B companies and choose first partners (contractors), that previously registered in the system

  • Choose and set up a tariff plan for your company

  • Pay for the selected subscription and upload a document confirming payment (invoice)

  • Download company registration documents

INVOLVING AND MY ROLE

In this company, I was the Product Designer of the most prioritized and main product (Smart Logistics Cargo&Trans).

I have worked on many aspects of company SaaS products, including shaping new features, implementing design system, brand guidlines update and service all marketing activities. Here, I will talk about the shaping and design creation for Sign Up process for B2B clients

During my work, I constantly interacted with next departments:

  • Owners and stakeholders (Employees)

  • Marketing department (Digital Media)

  • Product Development Team (Development)

  • Customer Support Team (Support)

  • New Business Department (Sales)

GOALs

I worked closely with all company departments (R&D, Developers, Marketing, Client Service and Support) to identify top needs, goals, and pain points for our all types of users (clients&contractors)

  1. Create consistency

    Too many different versions, slows down design and development

  2. Improve usability for new clients

    Prevent new clients from giving up the sign up steps.

  3. Create user friendly non-typical Sign Up steps

    Custom sign up steps, that depends on clients information and optimized subscribtion plan, that the last step of sign up.

RESULTS

The launch of Databar.ai received positive feedback from users. Our user-friendly interface and intuitive features reduced the learning curve for data analysis, enabling users to derive valuable insights from their data more efficiently. We observed increased user engagement and a decrease in support requests, indicating the success of our design approach.
